What is the role:
Scott M. Aber, CPA, is a modern NYC cloud accounting and technology consulting firm that provides outsourced CFO, bookkeeping, controller, and accounting services to New York startups and established businesses. We use best-in-class accounting automation systems to improve the back office and provide up-to-date financial statements that clients can use to manage business growth and cash flow each month. The Administrative Associate role is designed to be more admin-work oriented, closely aligned with the responsibilities handled by existing administrative team members at Aber CPA. This position blends client support, practice management, and administrative ownership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
What you would do:
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, and office supplies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients (via calls, emails, and in-person visits) and ensure timely, professional responses.
- Organize and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
- Oversee office equipment and coordinate with vendors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all office operations.
- Monitor and maintain operational systems to ensure smooth functioning.
- Provide support in preparing and filing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, conduct basic tax research, and help resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy of financial and tax records.
What you bring:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in administration, accounting, or client support.
- Strong understanding of tax and bookkeeping basics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
