Job Description
Compute Hardware Technician role at Tata Consultancy Services. Assemble, disassemble, repair and document electronic modules, multi‑module rigs and custom server rack setups.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, disassemble and rework electronic modules and multi‑module development rigs.
- Build and maintain cables and harnesses with proper wire selection, cutting, stripping and crimping.
- Set up and execute automated tests, making proper power and data connections and launching tests in a GUI.
- Track work and material through internal systems, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and create basic SOPs for repetitive tasks.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience assembling electromechanical systems, wire harnesses and PCBA handling.
- Experience working in a server rack environment with radiators and liquid chillers.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and use basic manual and powered hand tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration and ability to work independently while following direction.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Workshop or auto‑shop tool/fabrication experience (torque wrench, drill, tap, etc.).
- Linux command line experience.
- Basic soldering skills.
Salary Range
$60,000 - $72,000 per year
