Our Business group has an excellent opportunity for a Legal Secretary in the Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable leveraging technology, including AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. This position has an in‑office presence of five (5) days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent work and superior service to the Firm’s attorneys and clients; contribute to the Firm’s reputation for excellence by providing highly efficient and effective secretarial and administrative support to a legal team consisting of six or more attorneys.
  • Make travel arrangements, answer telephones, read and route incoming mail, maintain attorney calendars and contact lists, schedule appointments, reserve conference rooms, organize and coordinate meetings and conferences, maintain filing, process new business intake, and prepare expense reports.
  • Use word processing and document management software (Microsoft Office 2016, including PowerPoint & Excel, Litera Compare, Adobe, DMS, etc.) to prepare and revise, format, and finalize a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and other legal materials. In conjunction with the preparation of such documents, the secretary is responsible for proofreading, correctly formatting and questioning any inconsistencies in all materials.
  • Enter, proofread, and edit attorney time entries in time capture system (Intapp) and on proforma bills.
  • Initiate new client matters and prepare personalized engagement letters.
  • Organize and prepare closing binders.
  • Aid other Secretaries within assigned teams whenever necessary to meet Firm and client needs; organize and prioritize workload for maximum efficiency and facilitation of Firm and client goals. Foster professional, cooperative and supportive relationships with peers, superiors, and clients.
  • Other duties as requested and assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); with 2 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to multi‑task and be detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, tact, and flexibility under pressure in a mixed‑matrix environment with many competing priorities.
  • A strong client service approach and team orientation.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
