Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent client in Smithville, TN, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. This role requires close collaboration with production, maintenance, and quality teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will design and optimize manufacturing processes, implement lean manufacturing principles, troubleshoot technical issues, develop documentation and training materials, support equipment installation and maintenance, analyze production data, collaborate on new product launches, create and modify PLC and touchscreen programs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize manufacturing processes for productivity, quality, and safety.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the production floor.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
• Support the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of manufacturing equipment.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product launches and process changes.
• Create and modify PLC programs and touchscreen programs in equipment to improve process.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of process flow, time studies, and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 standard.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
