Overview
The Morsani College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is looking for Academic Hospitalist Nocturnists (Open-Rank) to work the night service (7 pm - 7 am). The Academic Hospitalist provides inpatient care, consulting, interpreting labs, educating staff and students, managing patient flow, ensuring quality and safety, coordinating care, developing protocols, and providing medical advice. Those BC/BE in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Clinical: Internal Medicine Hospitalist Nocturnist, hospital-based position at Tampa General Hospital. Provide coverage including medical transplant patients, general internal medicine, consults, transplant consults, co-management of surgical services. Preference for nocturnist overnight coverage with salary differential. Schedule 7pm-7am block 7 on/7 off.
Teaching: Teach medical students and residents about inpatient and outpatient internal medicine; supervise internal medicine residents; precept medical students in ambulatory clerkship.
Administrative and academic activities: Responsible to a Chair or higher-level administrator; responsible for teaching, research, service; academic advising; represent the university/college/school or department.
Qualifications Minimum: Medical degree from accredited institution; demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, service; must meet university criteria for appointment rank Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor normally produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, recognized authority.
Must hold or be eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent; maintain credentials in USF Health faculty practice plan; be medical staff member in good standing at assigned hospitals. Participate in teaching of residents, fellows, students.
Preferred
1-3 years physician or hospitalist experience.
Experience with hospital medicine, academic medical center, track record in teaching/clinical research.
Preference for nocturnist.
