Job Description

What You Will Be Doing

• Developing and optimizing SMT processes for new and existing products.
• Creating and maintaining process documentation, such as work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting SMT equipment, such as pick‑and‑place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection systems.
• Coordinating equipment repairs and maintenance with external vendors and internal teams.
• Providing technical support to production teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
• Collaborating with quality teams to investigate and resolve defects and quality issues.
• Supporting the introduction of new products onto the SMT line, including process development, equipment setup, and training.
• Ensuring smooth ramp‑up of new products to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
• Leading or participating in lean initiatives, and Six Sigma projects.
• Planning and justifying capital equipment purchases to support production growth and process improvements.
• Coordinating equipment installations and validations to ensure smooth integration into production.
• Providing training and development opportunities for production teams to improve skills and knowledge.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to maintain expertise and share knowledge with others.

Desired Skills

• CCA manufacturing experience in accordance with IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with Windchill is preferred.
• Detail oriented personality.
• Experience with automated process equipment such as laser mark, solder printing, SPI, pick and place, AOI, AXI, fine tech, etc.
• Knowledge of database structures.
• Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with capital equipment acquisition.
