Overview
We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative who is experienced in developing lasting relationships with independently owned businesses and larger multi-location chains. The role requires regular travel throughout Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.
The ideal candidate is located in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina. Our Sales Representatives work directly with independent pet retailers to secure placement and grow our representation, primarily through education and the development of brand ambassadors. A good candidate will be able to develop strong, long-term relationships with store owners and retail staff. Regular visits, training seminars, and thinking on your feet are vital to developing an account and territory. The position is supported by management, administration, and nutritional staff, but candidates should be self-starters and able to work independently and as part of a team. This position requires between 50% - 70% travel, and the territory will include the Southeastern US excluding Southern Alabama, Southern Georgia, and Florida. The bulk of the time will be spent in well-populated regions. Most of our representatives average 8 – 12 overnights each month. Education/Experience
We are seeking a candidate with pet retail experience or a seasoned (3+ years) outside sales representative. A post-secondary education is not mandatory but is highly desirable. The individual should be proficient with computers for company and customer communication, sales reporting, and other administrative tasks. The primary programs used in this position include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Public speaking is an important requirement of this position. The individual should be comfortable speaking with small and larger groups. Remuneration
Our compensation package will include a base salary, quarterly bonuses, and a company cellphone and automobile allowance. The sales representative will be reimbursed for travel expenses. Further details will be discussed with our general manager. Working Environment
This position is home office-based, though the majority of time will be spent on the road within the Southeastern U.S. Some weekend work will be required for event management. Our Company
