About The Organization The Water and Land Resources Division (WLRD) protects, restores, and manages King County’s water and land using the best available science and innovation while collaborating with partners and the community. WLRD employs scientists, engineers, policy experts, ecologists, and project managers dedicated to protecting the health and integrity of King County’s natural resources so that they can be enjoyed today and for generations to come. WLRD provides flood control services, stormwater management, and other natural resource management services throughout the county. The division has eight sections – Capital Delivery, Stormwater Services, Rivers & Floodplain Management, Rural & Regional Services, Science & Technical Support, Environmental Lab, Hazardous Waste Management, and Finance & Administration (F&A).

About The Role The Finance and Administration Section seeks up to two highly organized and detail-oriented Grant Administrators with excellent communication skills to join our team. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including leading the development of grant applications and managing grant award acceptance, reporting, and close-out. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills. They will be expected to manage federal, state, local and foundation grants, and coordinate grant reporting with Business & Finance Officers and Project Managers. Job Duties What You Will Be Doing:

Lead development and submission of grant applications; track grant project schedules, milestones, and action items; and coordinate teams to deliver in a timely manner.

Assist with collection of grant documentation from grant recipients, subrecipients, and contractors and ensure timely submission of grant reports in collaboration with Business & Finance Officers and Project/Program Managers.

Identify and report compliance issues and violations of contract/grant agreement provisions, policies, and procedures.

Compile and maintain trackers with key information about each grant to facilitate portfolio‑wide reporting; and compile and review programmatic data for tracking and to analyze the results/outcomes of WLRD grants.

Assist with grant closeout and maintain grant files and communication records to ensure audit readiness.

Assist with periodic site visits/desk reviews (part of internal audits/reviews).

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, political science, public administration, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least three years of progressively responsible grant experience with one or more years involving federal grants.

Effectively plans, organizes, and prioritizes work independently and in a team environment, often with the stress of conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills combined with critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

At least three years of experience editing the written work of others for accuracy, flow and brevity as well as punctuation and grammar.

Familiarity with grant management principles, practices, and the Federal Uniform Guidance.

It Would Be Great If You Also Bring

Five‑plus years of federal and state grant management experience.

Experience with internal controls and familiarity with audit principles, practices, and readiness.

Experience with software, including Oracle EBS; customer relationship management (CRM) databases; and the expanded suite of Microsoft 365 products, including Power BI.
