Personal Banker Role As a Banking Service Professional, the Personal Banker will provide effective support of sales and service activities within the banking office, developing new business by educating existing and potential clients and exemplifying Valley’s quality service standards. The role handles routine banking transactions (teller and platform operations) and supports the Market Manager in achieving quality service and compliance with operational procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement.

Educate customers on all bank products and services and cross‑sell additional products and services.

Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.

Open new accounts (checking, savings, certificates of deposit, IRAs) and discuss/sell loan products to existing and prospective customers; demonstrate online and mobile banking capabilities.

Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards; assist management in coaching and mentoring branch staff members.

Perform all transaction requirements efficiently using appropriate technology (teller scanning equipment, cash recycling, cash dispensing, coin machines).

Act as Vault Teller ensuring adequacy of branch cash for daily transactions.

Participate in community events and support CRA initiatives, activities and programs.

Report significant matters and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank’s Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.

Qualifications Required experience includes a customer‑focused banking background, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to demonstrate products and services while achieving sales goals. Knowledge of teller and platform technology plus a commitment to maintaining compliance and customer service quality is essential.
