As a Banking Service Professional, the Personal Banker will provide effective support of sales and service activities within the banking office, developing new business by educating existing and potential clients and exemplifying Valley’s quality service standards. The Personal Banker will offer a variety of banking solutions by analyzing needs, recommending solutions, and selling bank products and services to existing and potential clients. The Personal Banker performs routine banking transactions, supports the Market Manager in achieving quality service, and complies with operational procedures. Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement, engaging customers with friendly and professional service. Know all bank products and services and educate and demonstrate them to customers, cross‑selling various products and services. Present a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust and gain knowledge from the customer, analyze needs, and recommend appropriate products and services. Meet with customers to analyze financial needs and maximize sales opportunities, opening new accounts (checking, savings, CD, IRA), discussing/selling loan products, and promoting online and mobile banking. Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards, participate in the sales referral process, and coach branch staff members. Perform all required transactions and use appropriate technology efficiently, maintaining and balancing a cash box and utilizing teller scanning equipment, cash recycling, and cash dispensing machines. Act as Vault Teller, ensuring branch cash adequacy for daily transactions by ordering and shipping currency and controlling cash distribution to Tellers. Assist in community events (Habitat for Humanity), participate in, and support CRA initiatives, activities, and programs. Report significant matters, issues, and unusual customer activity to the Manager, maintaining personal knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank’s Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.
