National Account Executive – CVS

UCB
is a field-based role in the Market Access & Affordability team with up to 50% domestic travel in Eastern and Central time zones. About the Role
You will report to and collaborate with the Head of Enterprise Accounts for CVS/Zinc/Aetna and manage national market access at various levels throughout our therapeutic areas. You will also be responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing market share, and building industry-leading customer relationships. Success requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Who You’ll Work With
You will partner with the CVS National Downstream Account Executive (NDAE) to actively communicate, coordinate, provide resources, and facilitate the implementation of the operating plan strategy and tactics to maximize opportunities with UCB promoted product lines. You will have a strong focus on Trade Relations, Clinical Teams, as well as Contracting relationships. What You’ll Do
Customer Engagement & Strategy Build strong relationships with national payers like ZINC/CVS to influence how they cover UCB products in Immunology, Neurology, and Rare Diseases. Create and maintain account plans that align brand goals with UCB’s broader strategy. Collaborate with the Head of Enterprise Accounts to shape strategies across different customers and market segments. Work closely with internal teams—like trade and clinical consultants—to deepen engagement and become an expert in account data and analytics. Sales & Execution Drive sales and market share by focusing on customer needs and executing tailored plans. Understand each customer’s business model, reimbursement systems, and healthcare delivery processes. Partner across departments to bring strategic plans to life. Contract Negotiations Lead contract talks for assigned products and channels, ensuring favorable terms for both UCB and the accounts. Develop complex contracts that support brand growth. Work with legal and compliance to meet all regulatory standards. Market & Product Expertise Spot new business opportunities by staying on top of industry trends and competitor moves. Know UCB’s product portfolio inside and out, and clearly communicate its value to stakeholders. Strategic Planning Help shape annual plans and initiatives for national accounts. Lead cross-functional teams that include Finance, Medical, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and Executive Management. Coordinate with Marketing to highlight how strategic accounts contribute to sales and share goals. Act as a key point of contact for UCB’s investments and communications with national customers. Data & Analytics Use data to track market trends, sales performance, and improvement areas. Provide regular updates to leadership on account metrics. Be the go-to person for pulling customer data and supporting contract and pricing analysis. Compliance & Travel Ensure all activities follow laws, regulations, and industry standards. Stay updated on healthcare policy changes. Travel as needed to meet stakeholders and attend industry events. Education, Experience & Skills
Required Bachelor’s degree, Masters Preferred At least 10 years of account management experience is required, preferably in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting Preferred Delivered results in financial planning, pricing, forecasting, formulary management, strategy, analytics, and value-based contracting. Deep experience with CVS Health, including its structure, stakeholder units, bid and data portals, and relationships across CVS Medicare, Commercial Government, and Zinc GPO. Expertise with strategic planning, contract development, negotiation, and business management. Experience managing budgets and reimbursement strategies, including Buy and Bill and medical benefit access. Compensation: The range is reasonably anticipated to be $181,600-$238,400 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary by geographic region and candidate experience. About Us
