Who are we looking for? We are looking for a driven and detail‑oriented
Fire Protection Designer
to join our expanding Northeast Fire Protection & Life Safety team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with public and private sector clients across the region, evaluating and designing fire protection systems that meet the highest standards of safety and performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of fire sprinkler and/or fire detection and alarm systems, experience producing professional design documentation, and hold a NICET certification in fire protection.
Responsibilities
Perform water supply analyses, hydraulic calculations, and prepare design drawings and specifications for fire sprinkler systems.
Design fire detection and alarm systems, conduct on‑site evaluations of existing installations, and review architectural and multi‑discipline drawings for code compliance and coordination.
Create permit, bid, and shop drawing packages; review contractor submittals; and observe installations to ensure alignment with contract documents.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high‑quality fire protection solutions from concept through construction.

What you’ll bring to the team
Fire protection related NICET certification.
At least 3 years of experience in the fire protection industry.
Expertise in design technology and processes, particularly with Revit & AutoCAD.
In‑depth knowledge and experience with the interpretation and application of ICC codes, NFPA and other relevant client and industry standards.
Proven ability to build positive relationships across diverse teams and client groups.
Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
Experience with both fire sprinkler and fire alarm system design is a plus.
Salary $30,000 - $50,000 based on experience & location.
