Level 3 Network Engineer – Perform network services from design through implementation, maintain and upgrade existing networks, analyze design specifications, administer LAN/CAN/WAN, schedule conversions and cutovers, coordinate incident resolution, translate business requirements into telecommunications design, conduct engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives, assist users, operations personnel and program management.
Capabilities
Optimize end-to-end system performance and data flow.
Capture network performance information.
Minimize latency and maximize throughput through design analysis and monitoring.
Provide input to design of mission architecture.
Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test and maintain device and interface solutions.
Configure and optimize connections across front-end and back-end components.
Gather performance and interface requirements.
Implement server load balancing, VPN, firewall, traffic shaping, VoIP, GRE, IPSec, IP encryption, MoIP, NAT as appropriate.
Maintain network diagrams and accreditations.
Support all network equipment.
Develop mission architecture to meet partner requirements.
Manage tasks and guide junior engineers.
Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 and DoD/IC regulations.
Resolve complex problems with analyzers, WAN test equipment and simulators.
Design circuit-switched modules.
Lead large dynamic projects.
Develop algorithms for networking technologies.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering or related discipline and ten (10) years of professional network engineering experience required. Alternatively:
Bachelor’s degree and twelve (12) years of professional experience.
High school diploma and twenty (20) years of professional experience.
Requirements

Certifications:
DoD 8570 compliance at IAT level III.
Cisco certification required – at least one of CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.
