Overview
We’re seeking a Network Engineer / Systems Administrator to join our client’s infrastructure team supporting a growing enterprise environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional experienced with Cisco and Fortinet networking, as well as Windows Server administration. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing network and system operations to ensure high availability and reliability across the organization. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls. Configure and manage Cisco and Fortinet network devices (FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, etc.). Administer and support Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and system issues to ensure uptime and reliability. Manage network security, access controls, and threat prevention. Maintain and monitor backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and patch management. Support user access, permissions, and system provisioning. Participate in upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects. Document configurations, network diagrams, and system procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve incidents and improve overall infrastructure performance. Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs). Experience configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls and security appliances. Proficient in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration and Active Directory management. Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions. Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG). Understanding of network security best practices, routing protocols, and IP addressing. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
