Job Overview
As an Advanced Project Engineer at Honeywell, you will be a key member of the Engine Controls team, driving New Product Development (NPD) programs within Honeywell Aerospace. You will play an integral role in the design, integration, and testing of Engine Control, Air, and Thermal Valves, and Air Turbine Start Systems utilized across commercial and defense platforms. Your involvement will span every aspect of the NPD product life cycle, from planning and concept phases to equipment/system verification and early production support. Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for the Engine Controls Valves and Start System Product Portfolio. Oversee project management performance and execution. Develop and manage cost, schedule, and milestones. Implement Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Identify and manage risks (threats/opportunities). Foster internal/external customer technical communication and relationships. Interface with hardware suppliers for technical communication. Conduct technical problem‑solving and root cause analysis. Prepare technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports. Analyze test data results. Assess customer, industry, and regulatory requirements documentation. Read and interpret detailed design drawings. Support proposal development by estimating resources and schedules. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution. 3+ years of engineering experience. Strong management operating system that facilitates effective communication. Leadership skills, particularly in decision‑making, driving results, and a bias for action. Ability to create specific action plans, prioritize time, and resources effectively. Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, both internally and externally. Able to convey technical ideas and concepts through team discussions, presentations, and in writing. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Product development, process, and/or manufacturing experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or an adjacent industry. Commitment management skills. Experience with pneumatic‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems, products, and controls (Engine Valves, Start Systems, Actuation, Environmental Control Valves). Experience with systems requirement flow down. Experience with DOORs or DOORS Next Gen. Experience with ELM. Benefits
