Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Create robust, efficient, and scalable test fixtures and systems that ensure product quality and reliability.
System Architecture: Drive manufacturing test architecture, define system requirements, and develop design documentation for tools and fixtures.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams—including electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers—to ensure critical product functions are fully tested during production.
Vendor Management: Manage external fixture vendors and coordinate internal software resources to deliver test systems that meet design, cost, and schedule goals.
Integration & Troubleshooting: Lead integration and troubleshooting efforts for complex, multi‑component systems.
Verification & Validation: Support design verification testing and ensure compliance with medical device standards.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate process risks related to test fixture usage (PFMEA).
Manufacturing Partnership: Collaborate closely with Manufacturing teams to understand processes, business objectives, and user needs. (Up to 20% travel required.)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or a related engineering discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in test system or fixture development.
Proficient in reading and interpreting circuit board schematics and layouts.
Experience with medium to high‑volume manufacturing and automated test systems.
Familiarity with OTA wireless technologies (BLE, cellular, etc.) in PCBA testing is a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information to multidisciplinary teams.
Prior experience in medical device development is highly desirable.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid role—requires a minimum of 50% in‑office presence at our San Francisco office.
Location San Francisco
Estimated Pay Range $115,200.00 – $150,000.00
