Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – School of Risk & Actuarial Studies
Employment Type: Full time – 35 hours per week.
Remuneration: Level B from $127,947 and Level C from $155,403 (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).
Location: Kensington, NSW, Australia – Hybrid Flexible Working.

Why Your Role Matters The School of Risk & Actuarial Studies seeks a Level B (Lecturer) or Level C (Senior Lecturer) to conduct scholarly research, teach, and engage with industry and community. The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
Engage in individual and/or collaborative research consistent with disciplinary practice.
Publish in strong, relevant academic journals and create scholarly impact recognized by peers.
Conduct research activities under limited supervision, design research projects, and contribute to competitive grant applications.
Mentor students and colleagues and develop the next generation of academics through supervision of HDRs.
For Senior Lecturers, lead independent research with significant impact, develop research groups, attract peer recognition at national level, and obtain research income from competitive grants.
This position is based in Sydney, Australia. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance will be considered.
Qualifications and Experience
A PhD in a related discipline (e.g., actuarial studies, economics, risk and insurance, quantitative finance, machine learning).
Capability to contribute to the School’s core research and teaching strengths in actuarial analytics, risk management & insurance, retirement and pensions.
Demonstrated track record in research with high‑quality, high‑impact outcomes and evidence of research leadership.
Experience in teaching design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Experience with the profession and/or industry.
Desirable: Post‑doctoral research experience, industry experience, and/or professional actuarial qualifications (e.g., Associateship or Fellowship of the Actuaries Institute).
