About The Company Our client, a high-growth SaaS marketing technology company, is adding a Director of SEC Reporting to build the SEC division from the ground up, supporting growth, acquisitions, and investor reporting obligations. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of our SEC reporting process and help shape the future of financial reporting. The salary is up to $215,000 base plus equity. 100% Remote. Permanent Direct Hire.

Key Responsibilities

SEC Filings & Compliance

Prepare and file Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and registration statements (S-1, S-3) in compliance with SEC regulations.

Draft and review financial statement footnotes, MD&A, and other disclosures.

Coordinate the review process with auditors, legal counsel, and executive leadership.

Technical Accounting & Transactions

Research and apply U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and emerging accounting guidance.

Provide technical accounting support on complex areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation, leases, goodwill, and M&A purchase accounting.

Assist with the integration of acquired entities into consolidated financial reporting.

Internal Controls & SOX

Support the design, documentation, and testing of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX 404).

Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and timely remediation of deficiencies.

Process Improvement & Systems

Own the SEC reporting calendar, checklists, and disclosure templates.

Implement process improvements, automation, and tools (e.g., Workiva, Wdesk, or similar) to scale reporting.

Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to streamline data collection and reporting.

Leadership & Communication

Partner with Senior management, Investor Relations, and the Audit Committee on disclosure matters.

Provide training and guidance on SEC reporting and disclosure requirements across the finance team.

Assist with earnings releases, investor presentations, and other external communications as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.

10+ years of experience preparing SEC filings.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements.

Hands‑on experience preparing or auditing SEC filings.

High attention to detail and accuracy; proactive problem solver.

Experience with SaaS/technology companies and/or M&A integration is a plus.
