Job Overview Full‑time Sr. Research Associate 2 in Public Health at the University of Miami UHealth campus. The role supports NIH‑funded studies, develops health economics expertise, and contributes to publications that shape addiction treatment policies.

Core Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and maintain research data and databases.

Interpret research protocols, procedures, and statistical methods.

Publish significant results and prepare manuscripts for peer‑review journals.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior research staff and students.

Adhere to good research practice and University policies, safeguarding assets.

Stay current on developments in the field that may impact department functions.

Department Specific Functions

Conduct comparative economic evaluations of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) interventions, estimating cost‑effectiveness and budget impact.

Support economic data harmonization initiatives, assembling multi‑study databases, cleaning and validating data from claims, EHR, and survey sources.

Prepare research summaries, policy briefs, and presentations for stakeholder audiences and conferences.

Develop tables, figures, and data visualizations for publications and presentations.

Core Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a relevant field (required).

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (required).

1–3 years of applied research experience in health economics, economic evaluation, or related quantitative research (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes

Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
