Assistant Attorney General (Attorney II), Civil – South Carolina Office of the Attorney General
Under general supervision, this role primarily provides legal advice, counsel, and representation to the State, its agencies, and officials in civil litigation and other non‑criminal matters.
Job Responsibilities
Provide legal advice, counsel, and services to the State and, as directed, to State agencies, public officials, and political subdivisions.
Manage caseload, research, and prepare high‑quality legal documents.
Represent the State and its agencies, officials and subdivisions in contested matters, appearing in all courts at all levels.
Coordinate enforcement of the South Carolina Underground Facility Damage Prevention Act.
Serve as extradition hearing officer for the State of South Carolina.
Serve as attorney to the State Employee Grievance Committee.
Serve as coordinator for all FOIA requests sent to the Attorney General’s Office, providing legal advice and counsel on all FOIA matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position may require travel and transport of files.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and ability to interpret South Carolina laws.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Some overnight travel may be required.
Drug Screening, Credit, and Background Checks Drug screening, credit check, delinquent tax check, SLED background check, and grievance check are required.
