IT Audit Experienced Associate, IS Assurance JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assurance Experienced Associate, IS Assurance is responsible for utilizing project management skills and applying technical knowledge to assist in the risk assessment, control testing, and evaluation of IT to determine the impact of IT‑related risks and controls on financial audit procedures.

Job Summary In this role, the Associate will be charged with testing IT general controls (ITGCs) including, but not limited to, IT system logical access, change management, and IT operational controls, as well as testing business process controls key reports and information produced by the entity (IPE) for various client industry environments.

Job Duties Risk and Controls Focus

Understand and document client environments and the impact that IT has on related audit risks.

Identify controls that mitigate IT‑related risks in the client environment.

Obtain and document an understanding of the client control environment, design test procedures, conduct and document tests of controls.

Document results of procedures, deficiencies, and assess the impact on the overall financial reporting control environment.

Review client information and control documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all supporting information is documented in the workpapers and appropriate testing is performed.

Prepare required communications to the client.

Identify issues and raise them to the team and management for resolution.

Other Responsibilities

Maintain an organized approach to assigned tasks, including providing status reporting to the team and management.

Coordinate with clients on requested information and ensure timely receipt of materials.

Perform procedures within deadlines provided.

Build a knowledge base by reading and understanding methodology, relevant standards, and regulations.

Build relationships with client and team.

Other duties as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications

One (1) or more years of IT audit and/or related risk and controls experience.

Public accounting experience – preferred.

Experience with PCAOB and AICPA audit standards – preferred.

CPA, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP and/or CFE certification – highly preferred.

Software

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – preferred.

Exposure to various industry ERP applications – highly preferred.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and research skills.

Solid organizational skills with ability to meet project deadlines and focus on details.

Ability to multi‑task while working independently or within a group environment.

Proven ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Able to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel.

Ability to encourage a team environment on engagements.

Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels.

Ability to travel as necessary.

Salary Range National Range: $70,000 – $82,000.
