Sr. Medical Science Liaison, Bone Health – OH/IN
Overview Field‑based position for the Bone Health Therapeutic Area within Amgen’s US Medical team. The Sr. MSL will engage Bone Opinion Leaders and Population Healthcare Decision Makers to communicate and advance Amgen’s scientific platform in alignment with corporate goals.
Responsibilities
Medical expert in the MSL group, providing accurate and valuable scientific information to the medical community.
Support the Scientific Engagement Plan (SEP) and develop tailored local R&D tactics.
Engage and educate healthcare stakeholders, including APPs, fellows, residents, payers, providers, advocacy, and access enablers.
Provide clinical and pharmacoeconomic support to payers, IDNs, and formulary committees, offering feedback on customer trends and value evidence.
Respond to unsolicited inquiries in compliance with MSL standards.
Present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
Execute the scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics.
Develop and implement local operational plans in line with the SEP.
Support speaker training and sponsor research; serve as study lead when applicable.
Liaise with investigators for non‑sponsored clinical research and facilitate investigator‑initiated proposals.
Lead or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
Lead congress activities as aligned with strategy; serve as congress lead when applicable.
Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues; serve as main point of contact.
Maintain clinical acumen, complete assigned training, and mentor new hires or international MSLs when required.
Demonstrate Amgen values and leadership attributes; exhibit tact and professionalism in communication.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience.
OR
Masters degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., DNP (other doctoral degrees considered).
3+ years as a Medical Science Liaison.
Five years in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
Managed market/payer/IDN engagement experience.
Five or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research; experience in a medically related field can include post‑doctoral training (e.g., residencies and/or fellowships).
Bone health/osteoporosis expertise.
