Role Overview As a Principal Wastewater Modeller, you will manage a diverse range of sewerage‑related projects that deliver sustainable benefits to communities and the environment. You will work with both public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

Lead and manage sewerage projects to ensure successful delivery.

Clarify client expectations and outcome measures.

Team Leadership:

Supervise modellers in integrating hydraulic modelling (1D–2D) with engineering aspects.

Technical Expertise:

Review and check technical work including:

Model build (1D–2D)

Model verification

Evaluation and feasibility studies

Optioneering and outline design

Client Engagement:

Liaise with clients daily.

Build strong internal and external relationships through value addition.

Innovation & Automation:

Promote smarter delivery methods.

Develop automation tools to enhance quality and efficiency.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure high‑standard deliverables.

Adopt various review methods and maintain proper documentation.

Business Development:

Support recruitment and staff development.

Contribute to winning new work and expanding into new regions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

Civil Engineering

Water Resources

Environmental Engineering

Geology or Geography

12+ years of experience in hydraulic design or modelling.

Chartered status or nearing chartership interview with institutions like ICE or CIWEM.

Proficiency in modelling tools such as:

InfoWorks ICM

MapInfo

QGIS

SewerGEMS

HEC‑RAS

MicroDrainage or similar

Strong communication and writing skills.

Self‑motivated, assertive, and capable of working under pressure.

Flexible and adaptable to new challenges as per business needs.
