Director of Staff Development (DSD) - LVN / LPN Orchard Post Acute — Fresno, CA Starting Salary : $70,720 / year (DOE) Full-Time On-site About the Role

The Director of Staff Development (DSD) leads Orchard's education, orientation, and competency programs while supporting recruitment / hiring workflows and compliance. This role partners closely with the Administrator and DON to ensure our team delivers competent, compassionate care and meets all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

Talent, HR & Admin Coordinate and participate in recruiting and hiring activities. Coordinate completion / processing of employment-related documentation. Coordinate payroll and employee benefit programs. Maintain a professional, cooperative presence with residents, families, surveyors, and staff. Education & In-Services Assess education needs using survey results, evaluations, facility rounds, and leadership input. Plan, conduct, document, and evaluate all required in-services for nursing and facility staff. Prepare the annual in-service plan; publish a monthly in-service calendar. Maintain in-service records per regulations; complete all Department of Health forms related to education. Provide direct resident care as needed to support skills validation and competency. Safety, Drills & Infection Control Plan, conduct, and document Fire / Internal Disaster / External Mass-Casualty drills. Coordinate infection control surveillance and follow-up education. Quality, Rounds & Surveys Make rounds to observe care delivery and reinforce best practices. Participate in facility surveys / inspections as requested by the Administrator / DON. Documentation & Confidentiality Protect employee / resident confidentiality at all times; uphold HIPAA and facility privacy policies. Prepare and maintain required reports, logs, and education files. Leadership & Supervision Assist with overall supervision / management of staff; coach and take / assist with corrective action as appropriate. Model a neat, professional appearance; generate enthusiasm and a cooperative work environment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program; current CA RN or LVN / LPN license (in good standing). Preferred : BSN. Experience : Minimum 1 year of direct patient care in a long-term care / SNF setting, and 1 year planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing education programs (2+ years in LTC preferred). Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) preferred; current CPR required. Strong communication skills; ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals; able to present to groups and answer staff questions. Solid problem-solving skills; able to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions. Physical & Work Requirements Very frequent standing / walking; frequent reaching / pushing / pulling; occasional sitting. Lift / carry / push up to 75 lbs frequently; occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, balancing. Visual / auditory acuity (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception; ability to adjust focus). Works in office and clinical areas; subject to interruptions, evening / weekend / holiday needs, call-backs during emergencies.
