Job Summary Golden Modesto Care Center in Modesto, California is seeking an experienced
Director of Staff Development (DSD)
who is a
licensed LVN . This role is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing all in‑service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The DSD ensures that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained through effective staff training and education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, develop, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on‑the‑job training programs.
Integrate training aids and instructional materials into in‑service programs.
Develop and maintain documentation, reports, manuals, and reference materials related to training programs.
Complete administrative tasks such as attendance records, evaluations, and required reports.
Support staff performance improvement through coaching and corrective feedback as needed.
Provide orientation programs for newly hired personnel.
Assist nursing staff (RNs, LVNs and CNAs) with continuing education requirements to maintain licensure compliance.
Partner with department leaders to coordinate annual employee performance reviews.
Communicate in‑service training schedules to staff and supervisors.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements
Must possess a clear and active LVN license in the state of California.
DSD certification preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a skilled nursing facility, long‑term care, or hospital setting.
Experience with staff supervision, education, and training required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of nursing practices, staff development principles, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
