Responsibilities
CLINICAL: Participates in Inpatient general cardiology consult service, non-invasive call & coverage, reading EKGs and Stress Tests. Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring of medical and/or graduate students, residents, and/or post-doctoral fellows. Perform patient exams and order or conduct diagnostic testing. Services and/or procedures include (but not limited to): echo, nuclear, cardiac CT, TEE, stress test, consults, medication management, etc). Opportunities for Invasive/Non-Interventional procedures pending experience and interest. Develop ongoing treatment and disease-management plans.
ADMINISTRATIVE: Supervises and oversees the day-to-day activities related to the diagnostic imaging services that may include radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine and/or magnetic resonance imaging services. Ensures consistent delivery of high value quality services to support effective outcomes. Oversees and facilitates daily operations, and liaises with other patient care departments to ensure service integration, and safe and effective delivery of services. Establishes work priorities, and assists staff in resolving operational issues/problems. Implements and enforces adherence to department, affiliate, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies and procedures, the Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and applicable laws and regulations Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices, using Lean or other process improvement methods and concepts. Collaborates with others to coordinate services, streamline and standardize workflows and procedures, and/or drive positive outcomes. Complete clinical obligations such as chart completion, patient follow-up, etc.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiovascular disease or equivalent certification. Eligible or passed boards for Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with teaching experience with students/residents, experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices, and/or clinical research/scholarship experience will be most competitive. Level II certification in Echocardiography is preferred. Desire expertise in adult non-invasive assessment of heart disease, including surface echo and trans-esophageal echocardiography, stress echo and adult congenital heart disease. Desire experience with exercise testing, ECG interpretation, consulting and attending in a coronary intensive care unit or similar environment. Completion of an accredited Structural Heart Program.
