Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Desktop Support Technician to join our client’s team onsite in Washington, DC and provide end‑user support part time.
Schedule
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (24 hours a week)
Duties and Responsibilities
Account for work using visual task board, ServiceNow ticket system, and during regular team stand‑up meetings.
Provide face‑to‑face technical support to end users in‑person at the customer’s site.
Assist Site Leader in executing established processes and escalations.
Repair, test, image, and clean PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, and other related hardware.
Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals.
Install, move, and change hardware; participate in large iMac events for client printer migration and PC refreshes.
Ensure all tickets that require follow‑up receive appropriate attention.
Assist with installations, configurations, upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities of server equipment.
Perform backup, recovery, and security procedures both planned and during emergencies.
Detect, diagnose, and accurately report outages of critical site applications.
Diagnose network hardware and performance problems.
Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical network.
Backup and burn end‑user data.
Document improvements to current processes.
Assist co‑workers in resolving end‑user technical issues across the program.
Minimum Education Required
High School/GED
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Positive attitude with high energy in a fast‑paced environment.
Deep understanding of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing PC/laptop hardware components (motherboard, hard drives, RAM, CPU) and software (Windows, Outlook, network printers).
Experience or understanding of server and network support within an enterprise.
Knowledge of enterprise technologies: Office 365, Windows 10 Pro, imaging, and ticketing systems.
Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, and logistics applications is a plus.
Ability to work independently and be available for scheduled hours.
Proactive work ethic with limited site IT leadership.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet expectations.
Experience with asset management.
Experience in an enterprise environment.
Salary Range
$20.25 – $29.70 per hour.
