Our client, a leading multinational telecommunications company, has an excellent opportunity for a Test Engineer 1 to work on a 12-month contract opportunity. Work will be on-site in San Ramon, CA. The Test Engineer 1 will test 911 call handling systems in accordance with relevant standards and interoperability of Next Generation 911 systems and associated components. Testing is critical to assuring effective emergency-response communications, ensure policies, procedures, and best practices for telephony systems are being met throughout the implementation of the 9-1-1 system.

Test and certify 911 call handling applications (software, hardware) and GIS systems on Emergency Services IP Network (ESINet), a 911 call routing application. Testing e911 products or Networking functionality Execute test plans, document defects and report test results. Work directly with ESInet suppliers and OSP providers to test and provide call results. Tracks issues to resolution and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Project Coordination: Experience coordinating cross-functional meetings or test sessions. Call Testing Tools: Experience using call testing and diagnostic tools, such as call simulators, quality monitoring software, or network analyzers. Telephony Systems Understanding: Familiarity with VoIP, PBX, or traditional telephony systems used within the organization Telephony experience: T1s, PRI circuits, TDM Performance, load, stability testing NG911 and Emergency Services IP Network (ESINet) Technical Knowledge of 911 Emergency Call Handling systems, (Cloud & Legacy) related Equipment, Network and Telephony architecture preferred: Intrado Viper, Motorola Vesta, Carbyne APEX Conference Call Platforms: Proficiency with platforms like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or AT&T conferencing solutions. Basic Networking: Understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g., bandwidth, latency, jitter) that can affect call quality Call system integration testing: Execution of test plans for call operability and quality monitoring. Report Writing: Proficient in preparing clear, concise, and actionable reports—using tools like Excel, Word, or reporting dashboards. Clear Verbal Communication: Ability to speak clearly and professionally during test and conference calls. Active Listening: Attentive listening skills to accurately capture issues and feedback from participants. Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities with attention to detail.
