Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Sr. Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Development Manager in the Organizational Effectiveness & Engagement team. This team is a part of the Talent & Culture Department and shapes the organization’s people strategy, culture and leadership development. As a key member of our Organizational Effectiveness & Engagement team you will lead strategic initiatives to build capabilities, develop talent, and drive organizational effectiveness through our leaders.
Your Responsibilities
Design and lead execution of initiatives to improve organizational agility, tech-enabled process maturity, and cultural alignment. This includes working with internal champions to curate a culture of continuous improvement by supporting the development and rollout of a central repository of tools and resources to enable self-service and scale.
Support the early identification of high‑potential associates and recommend development vehicles such as experiential assignments, coaching, and cohort programs. Partner with external vendors and internal SMEs to deliver high‑impact talent development experiences.
Partner with HR and business leaders to identify capability gaps and develop leader succession pipelines. Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen bench strength and accelerate readiness for critical roles.
Serve as a trusted advisor on change management, including stakeholder engagement, readiness assessments, and adoption planning. Identify capability gaps and design scalable and tech-enabled pathways for development of project, program, and people managers.
Define success metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions using qualitative and quantitative data, and monitor talent metrics on HR scorecards to inform prioritization of work.
Serve as an internal coach for onboarding and development of new leaders and high‑potential employees. Act as a mentor within broader HR team and stay abreast of discipline-related emerging trends and best practice.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in related field Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development or equivalent experience
At least 6 years’ of combined talent development, talent management and/or HR operations experience.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
Proficient in project and program management skills (timelines, resources, budget).
Solid prioritization skills as there will be a continuous flow of work, both tactical and strategic, that require dynamic prioritization.
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to lead live sessions lasting from hours to multiple days in various modalities: in person, hybrid, virtual.
Proven experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives and facilitating executive-level meetings.
Demonstrated experience working effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) across various functions and levels of the organization.
Certifications in Hogan Assessment, DiSC, Change Management, Lean/Continuous Improvement are preferred.
Data fluent and comfortable staying abreast to latest technology (including AI tools) that influence ways of working.
Demonstrates key competencies to include: Drives for results, Cultivates Innovation, Develops Talent.
Your Team This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Sr. Director, Organizational Effectiveness & Engagement. You will be part of a team and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location As our Sr. Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Development Manager, you will be based in our beautiful, state‑of‑the‑art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range The salary range for this position is $112,000 to $132,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP). The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue‑based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
