KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Associate to join our Structured Finance practice. Responsibilities
Perform due diligence reviews and provide financial due diligence assistance related to financing and Securitization Transactions to Fortune 100 companies, private equity owned companies, specialty finance companies and securitization issuers Analyze target company and/or client data to identify key financial performance and operating trends and insights through primarily balance sheet financial statement analysis to assist lenders with their diligence of a borrower Work on engagements related to securitization for agency multifamily-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO), collateralized debt obligation (CDO), mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS) Perform substantive procedures on working capital accounts (accounts receivables, inventory, accounts payables and cash); develop discounted cash flow models and securitization-related financial structures; prepare collateral stratification tables for various ABS assets Assist with designing, creating and composing client tailored transaction advisory reports specific to key engagement and/or financing issues and analyses of operating trends; prepare client deliverables and working papers supporting findings for financial risk management and audit engagements related to financial instrument valuations and cash flow analysis of fixed income, structured products, technical accounting applications and whole loan portfolios Perform compliance testing related to client agreements with investment banks, issuers, regulators, government agencies and investors Stay up-to-date on the typical structured debt instruments and research federal and international income tax issues related to debt instruments and tax principles impacting ABS and MBS; generate U.S. federal income tax forms and statements for ABS and MBS and for offshore issuers and assist with project planning, development of deliverables and the supporting working papers Qualifications Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business-Related major or Engineering from an accredited college/university Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking skills, demonstrated quality service mindset, data management skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Knowledge of visual basic for applications (VBA), Python, Alteryx or Tableau preferred Ability to document and present financial analysis and tax issues as applicable Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation Audit and Assurance professionals are expected to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site on an average of three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office) Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa) KPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries (“KPMG”) complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
