Overview Residential Counselors facilitate and work with consumers on activities of daily living (ADLs) needed for consumers to become more self-sufficient and move toward recovery. You will facilitate group therapy, manage intakes/discharges, monitor medications, create a safe environment for the consumers, help coordinate treatment, and advocate for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Responsible for direct service care to consumers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Compensation and benefits RC I — $26.72/hour (Degree seeking, no Bachelor’s) RC II — $28.96/hour (Bachelor’s degree or higher) Language Differential — $1.00 to $2.50/hour for bilingual proficiency AON Differential — $3.00/hour Full-time, benefits eligible employees are eligible for WellPower’s benefits plan. Facilitate group sessions as applicable. Coordinate clinical care with case management services and other services inside and outside WellPower. Assess consumers throughout the workday and provide appropriate interventions. Encourage, support, and train consumers in ADLs—hygiene, appointments, and basic household tasks (cooking, cleaning, etc.). Facilitate treatment and continuity of clinical care as part of a multi-disciplinary system. Complete intake and discharge tasks for residents entering or leaving the house. Maintain household safety and perform chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Document significant consumer interactions toward recovery and continuity of care; complete daily logs, consumer records, and medication records. Respond to emergencies and coordinate with staff/supervisor/clinicians as needed. Advocate for acceptance and integration of individuals with mental illness in the community. Attend scheduled team meetings and maintain a trauma-informed environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements & Qualifications Education RC I: Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; or pursuing Certified Nurse’s Aid (C.N.A.) or Home Health Aid (HHA) certification preferred. RC II: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field. Experience One year of mental health experience or related field preferred. Must be 21 years of age to apply. Certifications QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) CPR & First Aid Physical required (completed prior to hire and maintained during employment) Working Conditions Shift work and weekend work is required. Must meet qualifications under Chapter 7 of Residential Care Facilities - Mentally Ill requirements. Some programs may require a Class "S" driver’s license. Typical Physical and Mental Demands Requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting; ability to perform household tasks, climb stairs, move around the house, and respond quickly to emergencies.
