Residential Counselors
work with consumers to facilitate activities of daily living, group therapy, medication management, and treatment coordination, supporting self‑sufficiency and recovery. Responsibilities include direct service care to consumers as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Location:
1425 Monroe St
Pay Range & Benefits:
RC I – $26.72/hour (Degree seeking, no Bachelors)
RC II – $28.96/hour (Bachelor’s degree or higher)
Language Differential: $1–$2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency
AON Differential: $3/hr

Responsibilities & Duties
Provide individual psychotherapy and support to consumers.
Facilitate group sessions as applicable.
Coordinate clinical care with case‑management and external services.
Assess consumers throughout the workday and provide interventions.
Support consumers with ADLs – teach hygiene, appointments, household chores.
Assist in treatment continuity as part of the multidisciplinary system.
Complete intake and discharge tasks for new and exiting residents.
Maintain household safety during cleaning, cooking, laundry, and other chores.
Document significant consumer interactions toward recovery and care continuity.
Complete clinical documentation (daily log, consumer record, medication records).
Respond to consumer and building emergencies, escalating to staff or supervisors as needed.
Advocate for community integration of individuals with mental illness.
Attend scheduled team meetings.
Maintain a trauma‑informed environment of wellbeing.
Perform duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
RC I – pursuing Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; CBNA or HHA certification preferred. RC II – Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.
Experience:
One year of mental health experience or related field preferred; minimum age 21.
Certifications:
QMAP, CPR & First Aid; physical fitness required and maintained.
Working Conditions:
Must meet Chapter 7 residential care requirements; shift and weekend work required; Class “S” driver’s license may be required for some programs.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lb); ability to respond quickly to emergencies; household tasks such as climbing stairs and moving throughout the house.
Tuberculosis Screening:
TB screening and testing required prior to hire and maintained during employment.
