Financial Analyst III

Base pay range $98,000 – $109,000 per year
Description Vigor Marine Group is an established, innovative, integrated partner with a national footprint in marine maintenance and modernization, marine fabrication, and marine services. With four shipyards, six dry docks, and more than 20,000 feet of pier space near U.S. Naval bases and historic shipyards, Vigor employs approximately 2,500 employees across four states. As a financial leader in the corporate finance group, the Senior Financial Analyst will develop and prepare analyses and tools to monitor the operating and financial performance of Vigor and its affiliates, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to translate data into actionable insights.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities
Maintain and update forecasts and financial analysis with periodic improvements.
Support the management team with weekly, monthly, and annual analysis requirements.
Assist in reviewing monthly project EACs.
Review month‑end revenue recognition, contract schedule, and overhead reports, ensuring differences are reconciled.
Support the annual budget process through Excel model development, cost research, and analysis.
Assist Finance leadership in creating PowerPoint presentations for operational reviews, board meetings, and similar events.
Collaborate proactively with the corporate accounting and finance organization on reporting, analysis, and projects.
Perform ad‑hoc analysis as requested.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Substantial experience in financial modeling.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and pivot tables.
Experience with enterprise‑level ERP systems and BI tools (admin level).
Ability to perform in‑depth analyses and reviews of large data sets from multiple sources.
Analytical ability to research problem areas and draw conclusions.
Team‑oriented, delivering results in a collaborative environment.
Confidence in asking the right questions and intelligence to determine which ones.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
MBA or related master’s degree is helpful but not required.
3–5 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities, including financial modeling, budgeting and/or accounting in a project‑based environment.
Experience with government accounting is a plus.
Advanced spreadsheet and database query skills are required.
Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance of projects, analyze business problems, and communicate results.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast‑paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from shipyard production activity. The role may require more than 8 hours a day, occasional weekends, and up to 20 pounds of lifting. Travel up to 10% of the time, including air travel, may be required.
