Assistant Professor, 9 Month Salaried (Biological Anthropology)
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Contract type: 9‑month salaried, tenure‑track position
Teaching load: 2–2
Responsibilities
Teach a 2–2 load, including required undergraduate courses for the Anthropology major, general education courses, and upper‑division/graduate courses in your research area.
Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Conduct and publish research in biological anthropology.
Contribute to shared governance of the department and university.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. from an accredited institution, or the highest degree appropriate in Anthropology.
A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
An active research program that engages students.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Preferred Qualifications
Enhance applied learning and advance research and scholarly activities.
Organize and capitalize on key partnerships across campus, the city, and the region or globally.
Deeply embedded in the communities you study, reflecting a commitment to community engagement and engaged scholarship.
