Quantum Science & Engineering, Assistant/Associate Professor, 9 Month Salaried (Multiple Vacancies)
Join Florida State University (FSU) to advance research and education in Quantum Science and Engineering (QSE). The College of Arts and Sciences and the joint College of Engineering at FSU and Florida A&M University (FAMU) are inviting applications for multiple, open‑rank, tenure‑track or tenured faculty positions in QSE. Successful candidates will be appointed to mutually agreed departments, with possible joint appointments.

Tenure Track: Assistant Professor (open‑rank open to early‑career or mid‑career, depending on experience)
Tenured: Associate or Full Professor
Salary: 9‑month salaried position (compensation range to be discussed during interview)

Responsibilities
Develop and nurture internationally recognized research programs in QSE.
Attract and sustain external funding to support research and graduate education.
Integrate interdisciplinary collaboration across campus and with external partners.
Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in quantum science and related subjects.
Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and post‑doctoral researchers.
Engage in college and professional service, contributing to the advancement of the field.
Qualifications
Ph.D. (or foreign degree equivalent) in Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline suitable for quantum science.
Strong record of research excellence with potential for future distinction.
For tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions: exceptional potential in research and a high level of commitment to teaching.
For senior tenured positions: stellar record of scholarship and education.
Experience in either Quantum Devices (quantum materials, optics, spectroscopy, device fabrication) or Quantum Theory (information, computation, algorithmic techniques) is highly desirable.
