CT Technologist - CT Scan Unit - Per Diem 8 Hours Nights (11:00PM to 7:30AM) (Union, Non-exempt)
Join Keck Medicine of USC as a CT Technologist for the CT Scan Unit. This positions spans 8-hour night shifts (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) and is a union, non‑exempt position.
Job Summary The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs scans, prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, and ensures high‑quality imaging. Minimum two years of acute hospital experience required. The role operates under the Imaging Services Director and follows departmental standards.
Essential Job Functions & Core Responsibilities
Adheres to patient safety philosophy and reports potential or actual safety issues.
Attends in‑service classes and complies with departmental and hospital policies.
Promotes teamwork, maintains a positive attitude and professional relationships.
Documents examination history, unusual conditions, examination time, and technologist ID in PACS.
Uses information systems for daily duties and billing; lifts and transfers patients.
Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA regulations.
Performs safety inspection of equipment; reports unsafe conditions.
Follows infection control policies and procedures.
Assesses pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients for proper positioning, technique, contrast media, immobilization, and radiation protection; provides educational information to families as needed.
Ensures quality imaging including proper exposure factors and patient positioning.
Demonstrates knowledge and competency of radiological techniques; operates and maintains equipment safely.
Participates in the performance‑improvement program through orientation, education, and quality activities.
Reviews requisitions, verifies examinations, checks patient history, greets patients, confirms identity, and explains procedures for patient satisfaction.
Rotates to different shifts and work areas as scheduled; works overtime as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology Program (Minimum).
Work Experience
Minimum of two years in acute hospital base experience preferred.
No prior experience required for Methodist Hospital radiology interns.
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT Registration (Minimum).
Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (Minimum).
Current California Fluoroscopy Permit (Minimum).
CT ARRT (Minimum).
Venipuncture certification (Minimum).
Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification (Minimum).

Pay Transparency The hourly salary rate range for this position is $51.00 – $64.63.
