What to Expect
This role focuses on ensuring the safety and reliability of energy systems by identifying design risks and defining/developing design validation specifications for thermal abuse scenarios. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement safety measures for battery and energy storage systems, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge energy solutions.
What You'll Do
Maintain and develop thermal abuse design validation specifications
Develop new test protocols to explore design risks in emerging designs and applications
Apply thermal abuse expertise to identify early-phase design risks
Develop novel mitigation methods to enhance safety in energy systems
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety specifications into product designs
Analyze test results to refine validation processes and improve system reliability
Document and communicate findings to support design and safety reviews
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or equivalent experience
Strong foundation in thermal and mechanical engineering principles
Demonstrated experience in thermal abuse safety for battery or energy systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with safety standards and testing methodologies for energy systems
Experience with product/system/manufacturing design processes.
Experience with CAD and 3D modeling /analysis
Experience with data acquisition and test setup/design
Understanding of Li-ion battery electrochemistry/EE/statistics
Lithium-ion battery / automotive / grid scale energy storage experience

$84,000 - $234,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
