Title: IT SAP Developer Type: Full time - Permanent Schedule: Hybrid; 4 days onsite / 1 day remote (9/80 schedule; alternating Fridays off) Salary Range: $140K $160K base + Annual Bonus (15-30%) + Pension Plan + 6% 401k Match Background Information PQL in this context means "Project Quantum Leap". It is Motiva's company-wide initiative to implement SAP S4Hana. They're working with KaarTech as a transformation partner. This specific role is supporting the Wave 7 implementation, focused on hydrocarbon chain automation.
Mission The developer will help integrate and replace existing ETRM systems (Using RightAngle) by automating crude trading, logistics, and invoicing operations directly within SAP. The resource will act as both a developer and a technical liaison, ensuring enhancements, customizations, and long-term system stability while enabling business continuity.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Gain an understanding of DevSecOps for SAP, providing appropriate permissions for environment access.
Partner with Cartech (3rd party) on implementation and integration processes.
Review business requirements and technical architecture, ensuring enhancements and tweaks align with the long-term vision.
Support and maintain customizations and new business processes within SAP and across connected platforms (RightAngle, TMC for transport, Salesforce for CRM).
Oversee integrations (primarily via IDOCs and BTP) to ensure seamless system handoffs.
Act as a technical liaison across engineering and business teams to ensure continuity and scalability of SAP solutions.
Must Have Skills
Solid ABAP knowledge with ability to customize in SAP BTP.
Strong exposure to SAP Oil & Gas modules such as CM, SOL, FICO, or MRD.
Hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation/enhancement experience.
Excellent communication skills to liaise across business and technical teams.
Plusses
Deep Oil & Gas SAP knowledge (CM, TSW, FICO, etc.).
Prior experience replacing ETRM systems (e.g., RightAngle, Endur, OpenLink).
Knowledge of SAP integrations with CRM, transport, or trading systems.
