Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
A Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan on site at our customer facility in Seattle, WA. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline. You will design, draft, and release engineering parts, assemblies, and installations for hardware-in-loop test system racks.
Job Duties
Perform administrative and technical tasks required to support development of lab test detail, assembly, and installation drawings and models, including associated work within the ENOVIA Product Data manager
Develop 2D installation drawings and 3D models
Employ aerospace industry wiring installation practices including system separation, as well as common aerospace industry mechanical design standards
Coordinate design reviews with appropriate Integrated Program Teams (IPTs), (e.g. Program Stress Engineering, Tech Design team, Design Engineering teams) to obtain design approvals and drafting checks prior to completion of task
Accurately perform medium complexity numerical stack-up calculations and GD&T functions
Assist with the release process for drawings and models
Develops solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems which require ingenuity and innovation
Hands on fabrication, assembly, or maintenance experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent certification
Four+ years total experience in CAD hardware design - CATIA V5
Proven ability to solve complex problems with simple solutions in both design and implementation stages
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to make plans and directional recommendations collaboratively and cross-functionally
Ability to engineer creative, new approaches to problems
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of Test System LRU's, Test System Rack Design, and wiring harnesses/connectors
Knowledge and application of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5)
Familiarity with Boeing design release process
Strong knowledge and experience with CATIA V5/Enovia/CMPro
