Job Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated
Rolling Stock Corrective Maintenance Lead Technician
to work on our Honolulu Rail Project.
The successful candidate will bring ideas for continuous improvement and creativity.
The position is based in
Pearl City/Honolulu, HI .
Accountabilities
Leads and supervises CM technicians to perform corrective maintenance on PV equipment.
Ensures CM technicians comply with all maintenance procedures and instructions, including safety, quality and environmental procedures.
Ensures staff are competent and trained to follow safety and maintenance procedures and instructions.
Ensures sufficient materials, hand tools and equipment are on hand for corrective maintenance activities.
Identifies early failure trends that may impact fleet availability.
Ensures CM maintenance equipment is calibrated in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
Manages resources assigned to CM maintenance to optimise utilisation.
Implements sound employee relations practices within O&M regulations and union agreements.
Assists in developing component overhaul, rehabilitation and replacement programmes.
Performs related duties as requested by the Rolling Stock and Depot Manager.
Requires flexibility, shift rotation, weekend and holiday work typical of major infrastructure projects and transit systems.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Education and Skills
Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with CM technical systems including brakes, trucks, HVAC, couplers, door systems etc.
Electrical CM maintenance and repair.
Desired Skills and Knowledge
3 years’ experience in preventive maintenance of PV technical systems including brakes, trucks, HVAC, couplers, door systems etc.
Note: In accordance with the DOT's FRA and FTA programmes, Hitachi's substance screening programme tests pre‑employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety‑sensitive positions.
Bargaining Unit: IBEW Local 1186
Starting pay: $34.28
