Marquette University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice to begin Fall 2026. The position will involve teaching three courses per semester (Fall and Spring), primarily in business law within our undergraduate program.
Candidate must have a publication record in practitioner-focused journals consistent with AACSB classification as a “Scholarly Practitioner.” Service responsibilities typical of full-time faculty include advising students, serving on academic committees, assurance of learning reporting, and other duties consistent with the mission of the university, college, and department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and teach six sections of business law courses per academic year (18 credits) in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Primary courses: BULA 3001 Legal and Ethical Environment of Business and BULA 4001 Business Law for Accounting.
Other teaching: sections of MBA 6200 Enterprise Risk Management.
Scholarly activities include publication in practitioner-focused journals.
Service expectations: academic advising, committee work, assurance of learning, and other typical faculty duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master’s degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred JD, Master’s Degree in Taxation, and publication record.
