Role: System Analyst 3

Client: ABC - State of Virginia

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) – within 2 hours drive

Interview Mode: In Person Only

Rate: $74/hr C2C

Temporary overnight shifts (home): The individual will start on site for up to two weeks while trained on systems and project work. After training, they will work from home overnight (2am-10am) to assist with project work. After project completion (Feb), they will return to a 9am-5pm on‑site schedule.

Project Description: POS Software rollout to 400 stores (1,000+ registers) across VA.

Parking IS PROVIDED (at no cost) to contractors at the new facility in Mechanicsville.

About The Role

This is a System Administrator role. It requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment supporting a diverse portfolio of in‑store technologies, integrated platforms, and retail systems.

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the health, stability, and performance of the Retail environment. You’ll play a key role in implementing system upgrades, managing hardware and software configurations, supporting integrations with third‑party tools, and troubleshooting complex issues affecting store operations.

Direct collaboration with cross‑functional teams: store operations, IT infrastructure, network teams, and external vendors. Assignments may include: supporting new POS features, system enhancements, deployment of new store technologies, and providing hands‑on support for break/fix scenarios. Timely incident resolution and root cause analysis will be critical.

Responsibilities

Daily checks of supported systems and software; apply OS updates and configuration changes.

Install and configure new hardware and software on supported systems.

Document configuration of supported systems.

Maintain security and compliance of supported systems.

Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions on supported systems.

Answer technical queries and troubleshoot reported problems.

Utilize PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency.

Interface directly with users to resolve communication issues with registers, workstations, and servers.

Implement security procedures and tools to ensure rigorous security measures.

Interface indirectly with third‑party vendors to replace failed hardware after troubleshooting.

Follow client service processes and procedures, and document resolutions thoroughly.

Perform follow‑up calls/email to clients to ensure excellent customer service.

Configure operating system and POS software settings for registers, workstations, and servers.

Configure, administer, and support GKOmniPOS software and wireless infrastructure.

Configure, administer, and support Active Directory domain and certificate services (Windows Server 2019).

Work with vendors for new application builds as available.

Identify potential risk in current environment and remediate with vendors and stakeholders.

Required / Desired Skills

PowerShell scripting – 5+ years

Scripting – 5+ years

Windows 10 Administration, Configuration, Patching – 5+ years

Networking – 3+ years (highly desired)

SaaS background – 6 months (nice to have)

POS (Point of Service) – 6 months (nice to have)
