University Housing is hiring an HR Coordinator!

University Housing is a dynamic, 24/7 division that employs a diverse employee population of approximately 2,000 student staff and 500 career staff. Within our HR team of 13 career staff and 6 student staff, the focus of this role will be to support the student employment team that serves our robust student employment program.

This position will assist with the full life cycle employment activities (I-9s, CBC, staffing actions etc.) as well as a variety of divisional employment initiatives and programs in student employment. The individual in this role will provide exceptional customer service to applicants, employees, and prospective students.

This is a high volume and customer service-focused role that serves a diverse group of departments. Individuals who have professional experience providing high-volume support are highly encouraged to apply!

The HR Coordinator position is hybrid remote and is a 1-year fixed-term finite position. There may be opportunity for an extension dependent on performance, operational need, and budget.

Work Schedule

The primary schedule for this position is 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Work schedule will be set with selected finalist(s) at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Key Job Responsibilities

Audits and tracks compliance for various HR functions such as performance evaluations, onboarding, off boarding, criminal background checks, and credentialing.

Enters, reviews, and processes HR transactions according to established policies and procedures.

Serves as a point of contact to employees, managers, and internal and external stakeholders. Responds to inquiries and escalates more complex issues to the appropriate authorities.

Creates and maintains various HR specific reports, databases, and/or records to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and legal rules and regulations.

Manages the dissemination of HR related communications to various audiences under the direction of leadership.

Schedules logistics and secures resources for recruitment processes, onboarding activities, payroll functions, and/or other HR related activities.

Required Qualifications

Previous Human Resources (HR) experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification(s) preferred.

Education

Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (HR) preferred.

Compensation The starting hourly wage is $24.04 or higher based on qualifications with a competitive retirement and benefits package, including vacation, holidays, and paid time off. Benefits information can be found at:
