Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Clinical Research Nurse Project Coordinator (BSN-prepared, IL-licensed RN) to support a federally funded Randomized Controlled Trial focused on neonatal health. The role requires an experienced, detail-oriented Nurse with strong clinical and organizational skills, experience in Neonatal, Mother/Baby, or Pediatric care, and Spanish fluency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the Study timeline, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
Coordinate daily operations of the Study, including participant scheduling, data collection, and intervention administration.
Manage communication among the Research Team, participants, and stakeholders, facilitating regular meetings and updates.
Identify and recruit eligible participants based on inclusion and exclusion criteria; conduct initial screenings and coordinate baseline assessments.
Oversee the informed consent process, document consent in compliance with IRB guidelines and GCP standards.
Implement the Study protocol, monitor infants for adverse events or complications, and report issues to the principal investigator and Study team promptly.
Collect biospecimens (saliva and buccal samples) and ensure safe transfer to the Laboratory; enter data into the Study database.
Utilize standardized assessment tools and protocol to ensure consistency and reliability in data collection across all participants.
Train and supervise research staff and students involved in the trial; ensure adherence to ethical guidelines.
Provide ongoing support and education to participants and families; develop strategies to enhance retention and minimize dropout rates.
Coordinate with PI and other Research Staff to schedule and conduct outcome evaluations at appropriate time points; provide regular updates on progress.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, prepare progress reports, assist with audits and monitoring visits; coordinate with IRB, DSMB, and other bodies as needed.
Assist in preparation of Study results for dissemination through publications, presentations, and reports; collaborate on interpretation of findings and recommendations for future research and practice.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an active Illinois RN License
Qualifications
Experience in neonatal, mother/baby, or pediatric clinical settings (preferred)
Spanish fluency (preferred)
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite
Electronic Health Record System Usage
