Assistant Professor of Practice in Economics
The Cameron School of Business, UNCW invites applications for a full‑time Assistant Professor of Practice in Economics. This is a professional faculty role, initially offered as a one‑year contract with the possibility of renewal indefinitely for longer contract periods.
Position Type Fixed Term (faculty only)
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and/or master’s level programs in Economics, teaching seven courses (21 credit hours) per academic year.
Produce at least one publication per five years employed.
Contribute to service, research, and impact activities (committee work, professional talks, student competition teams, executive education, industry relationships, alumni engagement).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D., DBA, or an equivalent terminal degree in Economics or a closely related discipline from a nationally accredited institution.
In exceptional circumstances, a combination of advanced graduate education, relevant certifications or licensure, and significant experience at the highest levels of professional practice may be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience teaching at the college, university or community college level.
A distinguished career in economics.
