Section Chief, Classical Hematology Responsibilities
Lead and expand a team of classical hematologists within the region's largest cancer clinical program.
Deliver comprehensive care for patients with non-malignant hematologic diseases across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Develop and lead a clinical research program in classical hematology aligned with existing strengths in solid tumor and malignant hematology research.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
Participate in and contribute to clinical and translational research efforts.
Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Engage in both academic and community practice settings within a high-performing, non-profit health system.
Work with a dedicated clinical research office supporting investigator-initiated, NCI-sponsored, and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
Section Chief, Classical Hematology Additional Requirements
Licensure:
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
Experience:
Successful completion of physician residency program
Education:
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution
Section Chief, Classical Hematology Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Hematology with a strong history of providing excellent patient-centered care, success in enrolling patients on clinical studies, and either previous leadership experience or is ready to lead a hematology program.
