Food & Beverage Manager: Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks
The Bower plaza in the Fenway is home to three concepts from ES Hospitality - Eastern Standard, reopened after 15 years in Kenmore Square, Equal Measure, a craft cocktail bar, and Standard Italian, a modern Italian restaurant. These concepts, helmed by Garrett Harker, serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks to neighborhood visitors, BU students and faculty, residents, and restaurant industry professionals alike.
Overview The Food & Beverage Manager is a dynamic, multi-concept role. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Beverage Director and Wine Director in the development and management of the wine and cocktail programs across Eastern Standard, Standard Italian and Equal Measure. The F&B Manager will also work closely with the Assistant General Manager on the day-to-day management and operation of Eastern Standard and the ES Hospitality private dining program. This is a role for a candidate who possesses a strong foundation in wine and spirits and is excited to continue to learn and grow professionally working alongside talented food and beverage colleagues in a legacy restaurant with a multi-daypart, multi-venue layout.
Pay range:
76,000 - 85,000/year + bonus opportunity
Responsibilities
Support the administrative functions of the wine and beverage programs at Eastern Standard, Standard Italian and Equal Measure
Assist the Beverage Director and Wine Director on wine and cocktail menu development
Participate in monthly beverage inventory
Participate in beverage product ordering
Assist in the day-to-day management of a team of FOH members
Participate in restaurant opening and closing shifts as restaurant manager
Lead by example to guide and empower the FOH staff on the floor, maintaining a hands on presence throughout each service
Participate in staff food and beverage training and continuing education initiatives
Assist with private event execution
Take part in special projects as necessary
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years experience working in restaurant management preferred
Strong wine and spirits knowledge base coming in
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
