Director, Organizational Development (Strategic Workforce Planning) . The role drives enterprise‑wide talent strategy and workforce effectiveness to ensure the system has the right people, skills, and organizational capabilities to achieve priorities and deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary The Director serves as a trusted partner and strategic advisor. Collaborating with Business HR, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and clinical and non‑clinical leaders, the Director assesses workforce needs, designs data‑informed solutions, and advances organizational performance and agility. The Director works independently and cross‑functionally to integrate system‑wide talent management, development, and attraction initiatives into operational strategies.

Core Responsibilities

Build high‑trust partnerships with local HR and facility leadership to determine current and future talent needs, identify gaps, and design strategies to address deficits. Lead leadership training and development opportunities, overseeing curriculum design, review, and program evaluation.

Advance organizational culture development, innovation, change management, structure, and team performance through the design and deployment of OD services and programs based on needs assessment, proven theory, and best practice.

Assess, identify, and provide departmental interventions to resolve issues, enhance performance, and create desired organizational culture. Coach and consult with leaders to implement identified interventions.

Provide expertise and coaching in using and implementing leadership assessments and multi‑source feedback instruments. Consult with leaders on results to recommend intervention, change, and performance improvement.

Actively participate in OD professional networks to learn, support personal development, and share best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education Master’s degree

in Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior Studies, Adult Education, or a related field.

Required Minimum Experience

Minimum 7–10 years of internal consulting experience working with executives, managing coaching or organizational development, change management, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years in a Senior Manager or above role.

Experience in a complex multi‑site organization (5,000–10,000 FTEs) required.

Healthcare experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills Demonstrated knowledge of OD theories, philosophies and methods, adult learning styles, interactive teaching methods, assessment administration, coaching and consulting with individuals and teams, change management theory, organizational and needs analysis, customer service principles, and employee engagement theories.

Certification Preferences

Certification in assessment tool administration, change management, and/or executive leadership coaching preferred.
