At least one year of clerical experience in a legal, court, criminal justice, or indigent defense setting is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are also required.
Description:
The tasks listed are a representation and not an all-inclusive list of essential job tasks for this position.
- Serves as a receptionist managing incoming calls by screening, directing, and transferring to appropriate staff.
- Assists callers and in-person customers by looking up and relaying information regarding their assigned attorney as well as upcoming court dates.
- Monitors court calendar and notifies attorneys of client arrival.
- Assigns attorneys to unrepresented clients in coordination with attorneys and assignment staff.
- Enters assignments and payment information in case management system.
- Performs initial conflict checks.
- Builds and organizes both hardcopy and electronic files.
- Performs other miscellaneous routine clerical tasks as needed.
