Job Summary

Supports day‑to‑day warehouse operations providing delivery and warehouse services. Provides delivery of materials to customer sites or branch locations. Maintains vehicles, logs, inspection reports, truck summary, driver logs, and back‑detail daily. Loads/unloads material and provides exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provides delivery of material to Border States branches and customer sites.
  • Maintains delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition; monitors maintenance and mileage.
  • Provides regular maintenance and cleaning of vehicles; schedules DOT/state mandated inspections.
  • Maintains daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets.
  • Completes truck summary, driver’s log, and other backup detail daily; pays truck expenses and updates records.
  • Observes all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations.
  • Coordinates deliveries with own trucks, assigned freight companies, or other carriers as needed.
  • Loads and unloads material at branch and customer locations.
  • May perform warehouse functions: order filling, stocking shelves, processing returns, receiving and shipping.

Non‑essential Functions

  • Performs/assists with other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Conducts Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as part of daily route.
  • Packs material to be delivered.
  • Maintains shipping equipment and keeps work area clean and safe.
  • Assists City Desk and Will Call areas with customer service functions (order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, technical assistance).
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.

Qualifications

  • Two years of work experience preferred.
  • Prior warehouse distribution experience, including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems.
  • Minimum age 21.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Current medical certification required.
  • Clean driving record essential.
  • Working knowledge of PC for Windows and Internet; SAP software is a plus.

  • Accurately and efficiently perform all aspects of the job while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (reading, writing and speaking English).
  • Effective planning and organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills, competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.

Physical Requirements

Lift a maximum of 101+ lbs. from floor to waist or above waist not required. May carry up to 10–25 lbs. Occasionally.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and balancing. Continuous driving and handling tasks. No travel required.
